Presentations at Eltham

A preservation to soldiers was held at Eltham when, in the absence of the Mayor, Mr. C. A. Wilkinson, M.P., and the deputy-mayor, Mr. C. A. Harrison, Mr. J. H. Fake presided. He also welcomed home Lance-Corporal S. Wolfe and Private J. Williams. On behalf of the Eltham branch of the R.S.A., the president, Mr. H. D. Stanners, spoke. Presentations were made by Mrs. Wilkinson to Sergeant B. Campbell, Privates E. Old, F. Pinny, S. Litchfield, J. Stevenson. F. Sattler and E. Jones. Privates J. Guildfofd and L. Ritter were unable to be present. Sergeant Campbell replied. Each of the men received a parcel from the Women's Institute, the president. Mrs. J. A. Rankin, speaking. Before the official ceremony, a concert was presented by Mrs. J. A. Rankin, Miss D. Peebles, Miss D. Pennington, Mr. J. Sheehy, and Messrs. L. Haycock and B. Edwards. Community singing was led by Mr. Haycock. Mrs. Attrill played dance music.
