Sutherlands—Crabb
In St. Andrew's Presbtyerian Church, New Plymouth, on the evening of July 25, Mrs. C. Crabb was married to Mr. John Sutherland. Mr. Sutherland is the chief of the New Plymouth Caledonian Society and both are well known in New Plymouth business circles. The Rev. J. D. McL. Wilson officiated, and Mrs. L. Howes, Stratford, played wedding music. The bride, escorted by Mr. A. Moon, Stratford, wore a gown of violet and silver broche with a silver lace coatee and a capette of violet tulle trimmed with silver lace. She carried a posy of daphne, violets and maidenhair fern. Mrs. M. Evans, matron-of-honour, wore a model gown of mauve all-over lace, and a hairband of toning tulle fastened with a spray of daphne and violets to match her posy. Mr. A. Nisbet Smith was best man. Ihe bride was piped into the church by Pipe-Major A. S. Kirkland. Mr. Trevor Crabb sang the solo "Sanctuary of the Heart." A reception was held in the Mon Desir tearooms, the hostess being Mrs. A. Moon, Stratford. The cake was made and presented by Mrs. Moon. Speeches were made by Mr. Wilson, Mr. J. Patterson, a former chief of the Wanganui Caledonian Society, Mr. Kirkland, Mr. Malcolm Sutherland, Wellington, Mr. Andrew Wilson, New Plymouth, and Mr. M. Shuttleworth, New Plymouth. Songs were sung by Mrs. R. H. Culpan, Auckland, sister-in-law of the bride, and Mr. Trevor Crabb. Dancing was held.
