Sandford—Goldsworthy
In St. Mary's Church, New Plymouth, the wedding took place on August 19 of Lorna Kathleen, only daughter of Mrs. G. Goldsworthy, New Plymouth, to Donald Herbert, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Sandford, New Plymouth. The Rev. H. R. Starket officiated. The bride, escorted by her uncle, Mr. G. W. S. Rous-Marten, Auckland, wore a classic frock of magnolia satin. The bodice was cut with a deep V neckline and with the front shirred. The empire skirt fell into a long train. She wore a coronet of orange blossom and full tulle veil and carried a sheaf of lilies. Miss Joan Sandford, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Betty Edgecombe were bridesmaids. They wore Victorian f rocks of cream faille taffetas embroidered in delphinium blue and pink sprays, and carried bouquets to tone. Private Owen Bullot was best man. A reception was held in the Mon Desir tearooms where guests were received by Mrs. Goldsworthy and Mrs. Sandford. The bride wore a wing-blue tailored suit with hat to match when she left on her honeymoon.
