Taranaki Troops Leave

Troops throughout Taranaki left for camp yesterday morning. On the New Plymouth railway station were the Mayor, Mr. E. R. C. Gilmour, representing the New Plymouth patriotic committee, Mr. E. C. Hardie, for the R.S.A., Mr. G. Gibson, for the South African veterans. and Archdeacon r . L. Evans, representing the New Plymouth Ministers' Association. Cases of fruit were put on the train for the soldiers. The train was joined by 31 men at Hawera, where a large crowd was present. Tlie Hawera municipal band paraded under the baton of Mr. H. L. A. Fox. Cigarettes, provided by the patriotic board, were distributed by SergeantMajor H. Collier in the absence of the Mayor, Mr. L. H. Clapham.
