Both officers and crews have expressed annveciation of the welcome and coinfort afford ed them. Not only seamen, but soldiers are now spendmg nnurs m tho rooms, and no fewor than oI39 vfsits have heen paid by the soldiers of New Plvmouth. , . . Through the New Plymouth patriotic committee funds have been entrusted to the women's committee, who, under the directorshin of Aliss 0. A. Drew, president of the \V.C:.T.l.T., have arranged social gatllerings. suppers, gift parcels, free teas and pnlertainments. Help li!'s heen extenaeu to stranded and sick sailors. No patriotic funds are used for the upkeep of the institution, the committee depcnding pntirely on their annual mart takinRs for all renovations and general pxpenSeS.
