Another Enemy Warship Sunk Off the Aleutians

Rec. 9.10 p.m. New York, Aug. 19. A Navy Department communique issued at Washington states: "A United States submarine reports the sinking of a Japanese cruiser or destroyer in the western Aleutians area. Conditions made exact identification impossible. Twentythree Japanese Ships have now been sunk or destroyed in this area." Headquarters of the Alaska defence command reports that three Japanese four-motored flying-boats in the Aleutians were ' shot down by United States interceptor planes.
