RAHOTU GARDEN PARTY
The London relief fund will benefit substantially from the proceeds of a garden party held in the beautiful grounds of Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Maxwell, Rahotu. There were about 200 visitors. Competitions and stalls were well patronised, and afternoon tea was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell. The Red Cross committec was responsible for arrangements. Mrs. W. Wright, president, thanked Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell for their generosity in making available their gardens, and presented prizes won during the afternoon. Stall-holders were: Produce, Mesdames T. Willcot and W. H. Cochrane; cake and sweets, Mesdames T. Hughson, F. Baker and L. Tucker; jumble stall, Mesdames C. Field, W. Weaver and T. Healion; competitions, Mesdames E. Morrow, HClarke, R. Morgan, J. Dalton. M. Hill and T. Farquhar and Mr. E. Morrow. Miss J. Cochrane as secretary had a busy time and Mi's. R. Bell was gatekccpGr. Mr. and Mrs. E. Davis entertained at their home to cclebrate the birthday of their son Noel, and also to farewell him before going to camp with the 4th Reinforcements. Winners at eards were Mrs. J. Davis (Warea), Mrs. W. Waswo. Mr. McConachie (Eltham) and Mr. W- Waswo. 1 ConsoYition prizes were won by Miss 1 Putt and Mr. J. Lewis (Warea) and lucky | number prizes by Mrs. L. Ward and Mr. I J. Lewis. | Mr. and Mrs. F. Hoskin, Waitara, spent I a short holiday with Mr. and Mrs. H. : Clarke.
