CONTRACTED TO BUY ENTIRE CLIP [From Our Parliamextary Reporter.] i WELLINGTON, July 31. i " Summarising the wool agreement, the Minister of Finance, Mr Nash, pointed out that the price agreed upon, 121d a pound, was one-third higher than the average of the preceding season. . . . As for the future, the Minister stated: J " The United Kingdom Government requires all the wool that New Zealand can produce, and, indeed. has already contrarted to / purchase the entire clip for Ihe duration of (he war and one year thereaftcr." — Evcning Star. This is ihe clear-cut call that sheep farmers have awaited for months. Thousandr, are responding. Hundreds are meet'ing increased wages, rising costs, and mounting taxation; are getting higher money returns through increased carrying capacity — more fat lambs and greater wool per animal — through top-dressing.
