Waverley Bowling Club Meets. A committee meeting of the Waveiley Bowling Club was held recently. It was also decideti to give certificates in lieu of club trophies this year, but trophies which have already been donated by members will be competed for as usual. The first game in the pairs competition for the gold button. donated by Mr. J. Bourke, will be played between F. Hodgetts and F. Parkinson and W. Nicol and M. Bremer. Achicvement Badges. The design of achievement badges, which are to be presented to competitors, who complete three successive years competitions, was decided upon at a meeting of the South Taranaki Boys and Girls' Agricultural Clubs' Association at Hawera on Saturday. The design comprises a four-leafed clover on a metal base, with one of the letters B.G.A.G. in each of the clovers, and the word "achievement" at the base. I Henry Lane Sbield. Taranaki sehools have held the 'Henry A. Lane Shield, which is for the school in the Dominion with the best achievements in agricultural club work in one sejison, on every occasion except one since the inception of the competition in 1924. It was announced at a meeting of the South Taranaki Boys and Girls' Agricultural Club's Association at Hawera on Saturday that the Bird Road school, which won the shield for the last two years. and the Mangamingi and Matapu

A friendly basketball match was played between Alton and Mokoia school, teams. on the Mokoia courts. In a previous match the teams drew but this time the Alton team won by 15 goals to 14. The game was very fast throughout and ihe ' scores were even in the last minute of plan. The Alton goal throwers were more accurate than Mokoia. Carlyle Card Evening. Prize winners at a card evening at the residence of Mrs. F. Fitzsimons, Carlyle, were Mesdames L. Paton, R. Fairweather, F. Fitzsimons and Mr. J. Bates.
