Rec. 11 p.m. London, Sept. 26. Japanese forces which went to Indo-China by sea completed their landing at Haiphong this morning under the terms of the agreement with Hanoi, it was announced at Tokio to-day. Fighting which raged all day yesterday about Dong Dang between Japanese and Indo-Chinese forces has now ceased, according to advice from Vichy. It is believed the agreement which was reached between Japan and France will now be put into force. The French Foreign Ministry announced that General NLshihara (head of the Japanese mission) had negotiated the termination of Japanese aggression at Dong Dang, ending the border fighting. From Haiphong it was stated that French official circles dcclared that since the Japanese continued to infringe the terms of the Hanoi agreement by trying to enter Indo-China forcibly the French regarded the agreement as cancelled. French Remain Firni. It is officially stated at Hanoi that the French remain firmly decided to carry out the terms of the Hanoi agreement. However, Indo-China cannot tolerate that an agreement hardly signed should be broken by the initiative of the South China command. Indo-China remains
decided to oppose itself by force to the Japanese South China army's attack. Border fighting took place yesterday along a 50-mile front centred on Langson. The Japanese vanguards reached Keh along the Langson-Cao Bank highway. They also reached the vicinity of Lacbinh, along the Langson-Mokay highway. It was officially announced from Hanoi that the French withdrew from Langson while the Japanese were encircling it with superior numbers.
