REGENT, ELTHAM, PROGRAMME.
DOUBLE STAR BILL TO-NIGHT. Charles Starrett and Iris Meredith appear in Columbia's latest western thriller, "Call of the Rockies," which will be finally shown to-night at the Regent Theatre, Eltham, with "King of the Turf," starring Adolphe Menjou and Dolores Costello. The story of "King of the Turf" concerns a small-time gambler who becomes a striking turf figure through a series of lucky breaks. Along with Menjou the cast features Roger Daniel, who is being hailed as the new juvenile find of the year. Commencing to-morrow is the top of the season's musicals, "Broadway Serenada," starring | Jeanette MacDonald and Lew Ayres. Rich in elaborate numbers, tempered with a good down-to-earth story revolvjng about a girl who climbs from singing in cheap night clubs to musical comedy stardom, "Broadway Serenade" contains every conceivable element. of entertainment. The songs sung by the star range from hits of the gay 'nineties, through grand opera selections and on to the top tunes of to-day. "For Every Lonely Heart." "One Look at You" and "Time Changes Everything" are among the new numbers. Plans are open at Carman's cor "Broadway Serenade."
