conviction of two men j I Frank Hawthorn and Jacob Kaingara I were convicted in Ihe Waitara Police [ Court of fighting in McLean Street. Kaingara, who plcaded not guilty, was ordered to pay costs 10s, and Hawthorn, who did not appear, was fined £1, costs 10s. Constable Phillips said he saw the two men fighting and parted them. Kaingara stated that Hawthorn was I fighting a friend of his, and he went to i stop the fight. He received a heavy blow and was knocked down. He was not looking for fight, and was friendly with Hawthorn.
