WESTOWN MID-WEEK PLAY TIE IN BARNES CUP PLAY

The fourth and final round of the Barnes Cup competition at Westown yesterday resulted in J. Lobb and R. Bowie tieing after an interesting competition. Several other players were close. The play -off will take place next Wednesday ; over 18 holes. The best scores for the three-round aggregate stableford were: J. Lobb 35 31—32, 98; R. Bowie 31—32—35, 98; W. Roebuck 34—34—29, 97; H. Clifford-Jones 30—33—34. 97; R. O'Dowda 32—31—33, 96; T. Lobb 30—32—34, 96; A. Adam 29— 35—31. 95; R. Boulton 31—32—31, 94; Glassford 28—34 — 32, 94. The successful players in the senior and junior divisions held in conjunction with the cup round wece: H. CliffordJones (senior) 25 — 9 — 34, after a countback with A. E. Alsop, and R. Bowie (junior) 21—14—35.
