Mrs. Clarke. Auckland, is the guest of her mother, Mrs. K. A. Saunders. Mrs. H. Hansen has returned to Wanganui after a visit to Hawera. Miss Gwen Williams has returned from a visit to the Chateau. Mrs. J. E. Wanklyn has returned from a visit to Auckland. Dram'a League Reading. Among those who attended the Drama League reading of "You Never Can Tell" on Tuesday night were Mesdames T. F. McKenzie, Maddaford, Seebeck, A. Woodward, R. Keys, T. Kennedy, D. Brinsden, A. J. Corrigan, J. W. J. Harding, Chuck, Reese, Smith, W. W. Thomas, B. W. Thomas, J. G. .Pitcairn, G. McGlashan. B. K. White, H. Clement, Barclay, A. Murdoch, J. Dash, G. Villars, Coxon, G. Meyrick, W. Fairweather, Misses M. Fairweather, N, Keeley, K. Reid, P. Tomlin, D. Sheat, W. Quin, J. Hills, P. Moynihan, O. Harding, C. Tonks, J. Lennon, M. Smythe, M. McQueen, W. Knight, Martin, Smith, B. Mclntyre. Mid-Wcek Dance. Arranged by the staff of the Hawera branch of the Farmers' Co-op., the dance in the Rewa Lounge on Tuesday evening was well supported. The women's committee members were, Misses D. Tulloch, Y. Walsdorf and M. Corry. Bowls of Iceland poppies and foliage were used for decoration, and novelty dances were won by Miss M. Brough and partner and Miss M. Doran and partner. The funds will be devoted to Christmas comforts for staff members overseas. Visitors from outside centres included Mesdames Burke (Eltham), Whitcross (Stratford), S. Jeffries (Stratford), N. Faulkner (Stratford), J. Sheppard (Waverley), N. Crockett (New Plymouth), and A. Grant (Eltham).
