"WUTHERING HEIGHTS" FINALLY.

With Merle Oberon and Laurence Olivier heading a cast of prominent players, Samuel Goldwyn's most important and most outstanding production to date, "Wuthering Heights," will be finally shown to-night at the Regent Theatre, Eltham. The film was based on the world-famous novel by Emily Bronte and has the advantage of direction by William Wyler, who has previously given the world of entertainment such unusual pictures as "Dead End," "These Three," "Dodsworth" and "Jezebel. "Wut'.ering Heights" is unquestionably his greatest direction assignment to date. The story of "Wuthering Heights" is a story of love, of hate. of romance and beauty ~ and revenge. It unfolds on the wild, desolate moors of the Yorkshire country. It peers into the lives of five people whose destinies become strangely entangled by a series of weird episodes. Merle Oberon, in portraying the role of Cathy, a highly emotional, high-spirited beauty. gives an unforgettable performance. Laurence Olivier as the brooding half-gipsy fulfils a role of great difficulty with consummate insight and power. The other important roles in the cast, played by David Niven, Flora Robson, Geraldine Fitzgerald and Hugh Williarns, uphold the stirring drama and high emotional pitch of the story.
