WIN FOR INGLEWOOD

RESERVE LEAGUE FINAL

In a bright, interesting and hard fought game the Inglewood reserve grade Rugby League team won the Taranaki reserve championship when at Jubilee Park, Inglewood, it defeated Stratford by 11 points (three tires, one converted) to 10 (two tries, one converted. and one penalty goal). The outstanding player on the neld was N. Wythkin, the Inglewood first five-eighth whose attack was superb while his defence was of a high standard. C. Dodunski, wing threequarter, although not securing much of the ball, showed initiative. Of the forwards J. Stachurski was always on the ball, and he was ably supported by J. Ardern and R. Hayman. For Stratford Collins at full-back was safe. McArthur was a thorn in the stde of the opposition. Demchy, first fiveeighth, showed that he is a player of merit. Of a hard toiling pack, Taylor, Swan and Webb, were an outsanding trio. The teams were:— Inglewood: B. Riley, B. Kuklinski, J. Topping, C. Dodunski, J. Kuklinski, N. Wytkin, M. Herlihy, B. Dombroski, J. Stachurski, R. Dombroski, J. Ardern, R. Hayman, J. B>uckley. . Stratford: Collins, Pellett. McArthur, Mitchell, Cuff, Demchy, Kemp, Millner, Swan Fawcett Webb, Sanko. Taylor. The referee was Mr. F. Keogh. The Stratford backs with a fine passing rush carried play to Inglewood twentyfice, where it remained for a considerable time. From a set scrum the ball went out to McArthur. who cut through to score; Swan converting. J. Stachurski, Inglewood, broke away and kicked over the full-back's head for R. Dombroski, who was following up fast, to score wide out. J. Ardern converted. From a scrum, Inglewood secured, the ball going out to Wytkin, who brushed aside all tackles to score by the posts- J. Ardern missed with an easy kick. In a handy position, Collins kicked a penalty fox Stratford. . On resumption of play Wytkin scored a good \try. On the call of time McArthur scored wide out for Stratford Collins failed with a difficult kick, success with which would have turned defeat into a one-point victory. Inglewood Stratford
