Public Wamed. A warning was given by the engineer, Mr. C. F. Marshall-Smith, at a meeting of the Hawera Borough Council on Monday night, that it was an offence to have exposed gully traps not properly protected with gratings. He said that an investigation of a blockage in the suction pipe of the High Street sewer pumping system revealed a scrubbing brush and a quantity of rag.
