A social and dance was recently tendered Miss M. Gilmour and Mr. A. Manning in the Whangamomona hall in honour of their forthcoming marriage. "Miss Gilmour is very popular in the district and has always assisted in any^comrnunity service when called upon, said Mr. D. Murphy in asking the couple to accept a presentation of a clocn. from the residents of the district. The resignation of Nurse R. E. Fyson as district nurse at Whangamomona was received with regret at yesterday's meetmg of the Stratford Hospital Board. Mr. J. D. Law and other members praised Nurse Fyson's work highly. Nurse Fyson has been appointed sub-matron at Rotorua public hospital. Sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. O. J. Riley, Stratford, was expressed at a meeting of the Egmont National Park Board's East committee at
