TO HELP PLUNKET BABIES.

STRATFORD SOCIETY'S EFFORT. "Though the Empire is at war, the cradles must be kept filled with healthy, bouncing babies," says the Stratford Plunket Society in addressing an appeal to the public to support its annual street day on Friday, September 30. This will be the society's one big day of the year, and the generous support of work, cake and produce stalls is looked for. The society's appeals are few and far between, but even so, though patriotic appeals are now most prominent, it is felt that the importance of a Plunket appeal is great and timely, more t'nan ever before. As throughout the Dominion, the society has performed and is performing a valuable work at Stratford and, it is confidently expected that the support will be as great as in the past.
