Mrs. M. Sutherland, New Plymouth, is visiting Inglewood as the guest of Mrs. L. Sutherland. Mrs. Muir, Warea, spent the weekend at Inglewood as the guest of her sister-in-law, Mrs. A. Bublitz. Mrs. L. Worts will return to Wellington to-day after spending a holiday at Inglewood with her sister, Mrs. J. W. Eversfield. Miss O'Sullivan, Cardiff, is visiting Inglewood. Mrs. Joseph Dodunski has returned from a holiday spent at Auckland. Miss Joye Kaye is visiting Tongaporutu and Auckland. Mrs. Arthur Leech was a recent afternoon tea hostess. Mrs. J. E. Eaves returned to Wellington yesterday after spending a few days at Inglewood with Mrs. H. J. Eaves. Coming-of-Age Party. Mr. and Mrs. Angus Reardon entertained at a party at their home recently in honour of the coming-of-age of their only daughter Shirley. Streamers, spring fiowers and greenery made effective decorations in the rooms, where the guests danced and played cards. Mrs. F. Silver, Eltham, proposed the health of the guest of honour, who was presented with a gold key. Mrs. J. B. Douglas proposed the health of the host and hostess. Mr. Noel Reesby supplied music for dancing on a piano-accordion. Miss N. Laurence and partner won a statue vvaltz and Miss Mavis Ashton and partner won a spot waltz. Mrs. F. Nicholls, Lowgarth, was recently the guest of Mrs. A. Reardon. Misses Shirley Reardon and Frances Thomas were recent visitors to Eltham as the guests of Mrs. F. Silver, Rawhitiroa. Methodist Afternoon. Members of the Inglewood Methodist ladies' guild held an afternoon in the Methodist hall on Wednesday. Items were contributed by Mesdames Dyson and McKeen (solos) and a sketch by members of the Norfolk Road Women's Institute. Mesdames V. Voitre, A. George, F. Mantey, G. Ashton, Roberts and Dodunski. A competition was won by Mrs. A. T. Catjle. Those in charge of stalls were: Afternoon tea, Mesdames Mackinder, R. Ballantine, Reeve and S. L. V. Timms; sweets, Misses Jean Bond, Anice McKeen, Kyra Ballantine and Goble; cakes, Mesdames Goble, V. Arthur and Hobbs; sewing, Mesdames Fenwick, Jenkins and A. H. Codd; door, Mrs. McKeen. The nett proceeds were £22 10s.
