GENERAL
Soft Ball at Stratford. Efforts to start a series of soft ball games at Stratford have been made recently, the original promoters being some of the Americans engaged at the Midhirst oil bore. Soft ball is a variation of baseball, the chief difference be,ing that a larger soft ball is used as compared with the smaller hard ball of baseball. Soft ball has taken on well in the cities in New Zealand, especially at Wellington. New Signposts. Following the reconstruction of the Eltham-Opunake Road between Eltham and Kaponga the Automobile Association (South Taranaki) has been re-signpost-ing the stretch to bring the notices into conformity with the new construction.
