PHILATELIC SOCIETY
FINE DISPLAY AT HAWERA A display of artists' proofs, essays, colour trials and complete sheets of all the centennial stamps of New Zealand was the special feature at the monthly meeting of the Hawera Philatelio Society on Wednesday night. This display was made by the New Zealand Post and Telegraph Department and the thanks of the society were extended to the department for the privilege. It was hoped to have the opportunity of seeing further dis-plays from the department' s records in the future. A competition arranged by Mr. D. Crawford was won by Mr. J. M. Gabbie. The exchange superintendent reported that exchange hook No. 3 had completed the circuit with a good proportion of saies, and would be broken up. Book No. 4 was issued that evening. The censor was stopping stamps from being sent to foreign countries. said Mr. L. Linton. It was resolved that the matter be taken up with the New Zealand ( Philatelic Society with a vi.;.v to some amendment of the regulations.
