TRANSYLVANIA RIOTS
CLASH WITH HUNGARIANS ; Rec. 11 p.m. London, Sept. 13. Rioting in Transylvania is reported following the shooting of a member of the Maniu Peasant Party by Hungarian | soldiers. Rumanians leaving the ceded i territory broke down and crushed a | triumphal arch bearing portraits of Hit- | ler, Mussolini and Admiral Horthy. I Rumania has a new anxiety in the Ger- ! man minority of 750,000, which is re- ! ported to have demanded an autonomous ! community with its own military forces. ! A similar demand has been acceded to by Hungary as part of the price of the ; Vienna award which gave her a large I slice of Transylvania.
