VISUAL EDUCATION

STRATFORD EQUIPMENT Equipment for visual education, a projector and camera, is now included in the equipment of the Stratford Technical High School. The projector, which arrived at the school yesterday, was shown to the board members at the monthly meeting last night. Procured at a cost of about £15, the projector is capable of taking strip film and showing "stills." It will be used in teaching, with the aid of illustration, such subjects as history, geography and science. The "theatre" will be one of the rooms in the recently completed wing. The room is especially fitted for the equipment. The camera will be used for making negatives for projection in the machine. In this manner it will be possible to make pictures of matters of Taranaki historical, scientific "or geographical interest, while for the farming classes it will be possible to project pictures taken on the school farm or elsewhere. The following committees were appointed: Finance, Messrs. J. McAllister, Ferguson, Rutherfurd, Douglas and Mrs. McLean; works committee, Messrs. Bishop, McNeil, Tippett and Ferguson; farm committee, Messrs. Thomas, Taylor, Murray, Polson, Johnson and Amess.
