On Tuesday night at the residence of Mrs. Galbraith, Miranda Street, Stratford, the members of Holy Trinity Anglican Church choir met to farewell the Rev. Gilbert J. M. Craib, who has been acting-vicar of Stratford for the last few months. The evening was spent in competitions and music, and a presentation of a hymn hook was made to Mr. Craib. Appreciation of his work as vicar and choir conductor was expressed, and all present wished him God speed in his new work at Te Kuiti. Mr. Tony Rutherfurd, who is shortly to undergo military training with the fourth reinforcements. was farewelled by the Stratford staff of the Farmers' Co-op. yesterday. In asking Mr. Rutherfurd to accept a wristlet watch, the manager, Mr. Y.r. E. Williams, expressed the regret that the staff felt at his departure. He eulogised Mr. Rutherfurd's good qualities and expressed best wishes for his future. Mr. Rutherfurd replied.
