COLONEL BOGEY'S FORM

The race that Colonel Bogey had in the Marangai Handicap on Thursday evidently improved him. In that event he had a good passage but though hard ridden in the concluding stages he was unable to make any impression on Arcas, even though he accounted for the rest decisively. In the Higgie Handicap on Saturday Colonel Bogey was lost in a scramble for early positions and did not appear on the scene until the straight. He was unable to get clear until about a furlong from home but was fairly flying in third place at the end. He appeared unlucky to be beaten. As he now appears to be back to his bcst form he may nct be long in earning a winning bracket.
