WAITARA EUCHRE PARTY
At the Waitara Cycle, Athletic and Axemans' Club's euchre party held in the Foresters' hall on Saturday night nine tables were occupied. Prizes were won by Mrs. Reynolds after a play-off with Mrs. J. Bishop and Mr. J. Zeier after a play-off with Mr. H. Kettle. A competition was won by Mrs. E. Turner. A successful mart in aid of funds for the Red Cross was held on Friday in McLean Street, Waitara. Mesdames C. Dennis and J. Kempsall were in charge. Large congregations attended the Waitara churches on Sunday for the day of national prayer requested to be observed throughout the Empire by the King. Girl 1 Guides attended in uniform at St. John's Church.
