THE PEOPLE’S. “PRIVATE IZZY MURPHY.’ All sons should take their mothers to see “Private Izzy Murphy,” the Master picture, showing a-t the People’s finally to-night. In th© first place, it is a mother and son story, a mirthful, heartening, tender story of action and love and human hearts. Irish and Jewish hearts, made one by. things mightier than disputes and prejudices. George Jcssel, who is starred, is personally the chief pal of iiis own mother, and as the famous Jazz Singer won enviable acclaim. Patsy Ruth Miller, who is the Irish sweetheart in the picture, is noted in Hollywood for her screen success. Vera Gordon, who is one of the featured players, is perhaps the most celebrated of all portrayers of “mother parts.” “Private Izzy Murphy” is human and tender and fine, the sort of play which makes us want to live and let live, and is also one of the funniest and most heart-warming films ever shown. To-night is family night at the People’s; the admission for children is sixpence. An excellent supporting programme is also showing, and a real treat is promised to-night to patrons.
