EASTER BOWLING TOURNEY PLAY IN SOUTH TARANAKI. RESULTS OF FIRST DAY’S GAMES. The fifth South Taranaki Easter tournament opened in Hawera yesterday ou the Hawera and. Park Clubs’ greens. At the Park the first three rounds of the B and C sections were completed, while similar progress was made in the A section on the Hawera green. The tournament executive was Messrs F. Quin (chairman), T. Corkill, A. Murdoch, S. Adamson, A. H. Hodge, J. Foy, J. J. Goodwin, H. Kendall and James Champion (secretary). The ladies provided refreshments at both greens, their action being very much appreciated by the bowlers. Although there were two fewer than last year, the competing rinks were representative of the province, including players from Stratford, Eltham, Now Plymouth Fire Brigade, Hawera, Park, Inglewood, Kaponga, Manaia, Okato, Piliama, Pa tea, Tariki and West End (New Plymouth). To-day play will commence with the fourth round of the A section on the Park green, and the fourth rounds of the B and C sections on the .Hawera green.
