SEARCH FOR OIL
BORE TO BE DRILLED AT OKOKE. CO-OPERATION WITH BRITISH COMPANY. At the second annual ordinary general meeting of shareholders ot Taranaki Oil Fields Limited -held at Melbourne on Monday, it was announced by the chairman of directors Rt. Hon. W. A. Watt, P.C., M.P., that the company was proceeding to drill a well near Okoke (in Taranaki) on a structure highly appraised by the company's geologists. He also stated that, subject to .settlement of terms in detail, an agreement was being entered into with a powerful British Oil Corporation with a view to securing their co-operation in developing the Dominion oil resources. The meeting approved of the offer to both classes of share option holders, to extend the date of option by 18 months for the payment of Is 6d per share, payable by February 28, 1927. EAST COAST OPERATIONS The 'Taranaki Oil Fields. Ltd., report:— Waiapu No. 2 Well.—Camp buildings approaching completion. Transport of casing and balance of rig material proceeding satisfactorily. Made good start with erection of rig. Arrangements completed for supply and transport o£ coal.
