OLD BOYS DEFEAT BAND.

A win by 23 runs on the first innings was gained by Old Boys over Band in a match played at Tukapa. Old Boys "batted first, Gray making 31 and Moorhead 17. R. Taylor took six wiekets and Morris three. To Band’s total of 52 Morris contributed 18 and R. Taylor 10. Harris took eight wickets and Baunton two. In a second innings, Old Boys had made 59 for tlie loss of two wickets when the match was abandoned on account of rain (Jackson 29, Pruden 11). Taylor took one wicket and McEwen one. WESTERN DIVISION. COUNCIL A BEAT AVENUE ROAD. Council A (112) beat Avenue Road (39) in a one innings match at Avenue Road, Council batted first, C. Hodges making 35, Lewis 18, Large 18 and McClymont 16 not out. Sharpe took four wickets, Harvey four and O’Byrne two. Beu" (14) was the only double figure scorer for Avenue Road. Hodges took four wickets and Lee six. OKATO DEFEAT NEW PLYMOUTH. Okato gained a three-point win over New Plymouth at Tukapa by defeating them by an innings and four runs. Batting first, New Plymouth were dismissed for 51 (Smith 13, Jones 10). Coleman took three wickets for 24 runs, Brooks three for 10, Roberts three for 16 and Edwards one for none. Okato then batted, making SO, Andrews 28 and Edwards 22 playing valuable innings. Rutherford, with 13, was the only other player to reach double figures. Old Boys batted first for 63, Rock making 22 and Moorhead 17. Longstaff took four wickets, Jury three. Fulton one and Sutton one. Brixton replied with 24. no batsman reaching double figures. In a friendly match played at Inglewood owing to the Egmont Village ground not being in a fit state on account of the rain, Stratford defeated an Egmont Village team by nine runs. Owing to a misunderstanding on the part of Egmont Village as to whether the match would take place, owing to the rain, they fielded only half a team, but several batsmen were allowed to bat twice.
