JUNIOR GRADE MATCHES
NORTHERN DIVISION. COUNCIL B DEFEAT SCHOOL. By a margin of 17 runs in a one innings match, Council B (58) defeated High School B (41). Dickie (16) was the only double figure scorer for School, Batten taking four wickets, Hogan three, Hamblyn two and Jones one. For Council B P. Hawkins made 16 and R. Hawkins 12. Sadler took seven wickets for 15 runs, and Abbott two for 13. TECHNICAL COLLEGE DEFEATED. The outstanding performance hi junior cricket on Saturday was that of I. Taylor (Waitara), who was almost solely responsible for the defeat of Technical College. Playing at Waitara, the home side defeated Technical College by 66 runs on the first innings. College batted first, making 34, Boswell (20) being the only player to reach double figures. Taylor, who finished with the remarkable average of six wickets for five runs, was chiefly responsible for their downfall, while Wilkins took one for 22 and Hawkins three for five. Waitara. in their first innings, made 100 for the loss of five wickets, I. Taylor playing a fine innings of 52. Skelton (17) and J. Taylor (13) also -v..ened double figures. Kinsella took one wicket for 27 runs, Hughes one for 24. Sartcn one for 24 and Spencer two for It'. College then batted again, making 76 lu'i.r for the loss of eight wickets. Richards (15), Sarten (10) and Kinsella (34). reaching double figures.
