FRIESIAN CATTLE
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Nov. 18. The New Zealand 'Friesian Association met in Auckland last evening, the president, Mr. W. E. A. Gill (Wellington) in the chair. He welcomed Mr. James Pritchard, the Sydney Friesian judge at the Royal Show, and remarked that tho judging had given general satisfaction. He congratulated Mr. Jerome McAnnlty (Ashburton) on winning the championship for bulls and Whewell Bros. (Tamaliere) on their success in the cow championship, while Auckland members were praised for winning the provincial group. Thanks were due to Wellington and Taranaki breeders for bringing groups to the show. 'Mr. H. J. Marchant (Taranaki) reported that the official judges had carried a resolution asking breeders to dehorn pedigree female Friesian cattle. Breeders would understand that dehorned cows would be under no disadvantage in showing. A resolution that the ward system should be adopted in the election of council members was defeated.
