IMPORTS OF MANURES

FIGURES FOR NEW PLYMOUTH. INCREASE FOR NINE MONTHS. Manures imported through the port of New Plymouth during the first nine months of this year amounted to 20,807 tons, compared with 16,436 tons lip to September in 1925. In the 1925 period phosphates totalled 3047 tons and slag, etc., 13,389 tons. In 1926 phosphates and sulphur amounted to 11,548 tons and slag, etc., to 9259 tons. These figures were given by the chairman (Mr. C. E. Bellringer, M.P.) at yesterday’s meeting of the Harbour Board, ft was explained that one more shipment of slag would arrive before the end of the year.
