ATHLETIC CLUB DANCE
A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. Gaily decorated and brightened by multi-coloured dresses, the Workers’ Social Hall has seldom appeared more festive than last night, when a dance was held there by the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic Club. To strains of musie by Mr. McNeill’s orchestra, dancing was continued until the early hours of the morning with undiminished vigour The attendance was large, \but the efficient management of the, capable M. 0.. Mr. F. C. GilmouT, resulted in one and all enjoying every minute of the danee During the evening Mr. E. Jackson thanked those who had assisted with the dance, and welcomed a number of members of the Hawera Amateur Athletic Club. The committees were: Men’s, Messrs J. Norris, L. Abbott, E. Jackson, H. Martin, D. Robertson and F. C. Gilmour (secretary); ladies, Mesdames Davie, Stocker, Medley, Le May, Gilmour and Standish. Mesdames Davie, Medley, Weston, Stocker and Standish acted as chaperones. The committee is desirous of thanking Mr. McCabe for the decorations.
