ACCIDENT IN STATE MINE
MINER SERIOUSLY INJURED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Greymouth, Last Night. John Birch, aged sixty-nine, a coal miner, met with a serious accident to-day in the middle brake section of the Liverpool State colliery. Full trucks were being railed up a jig, when a prop was pulled out by the weight, causing the rail to rise and crush Birch, who is now in a critical condition in the hospital with internal injuries.
