FALSE DECLARATION

MAN SENT FOR SENTENCE.

By Telegraph.—Press Association.

Hamilton, Last Night.

A young married man, named Robert Basil Story, of Pio Pio, was charged at the Magistrate’s Court today with making a false declaration to the registrar of marriages, saying that his wife was 2il when he married her, whereas she was 17. His motive for doing so was because he thought the marriage might not be approved. The police were impressed with the frank admissions of defendant and his wife, who both belonged to respected families. The defendant, who pleaded guilty, was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
