'Signor Mussolini informed the Siera Fascisti that he had terrible duties to perform, but he will perform them. He has appointed Signor Edoardo Torre Deputy High Commissioner of Railways. 'Signor Torre has been instructed to dismiss all railwaymen who were not fighting during the war, replacing them : bv ex-combatant*- The railway staff will also be reduced by 40,000 and the eight hours’ day will be eight hours actual work. Signor Torre will repress thefts on railways, which cost the 'State 120 million lire per year, and lie will introduce iron discipline.
