THE AMERICAN TOUR. CANTERBURY VISIT CANCELLED. By’ Telegraph -Press Association. Christchurch, Dec. 21. The Canterbury Athletic Centro has decided to cancel the American athletic team’s visit to Canterbury on account of the unsuitability of the date and the heavy guarantee asked. Wellington, Dec. 21. The New Zealand Amateur Athletic Council considered the Canterbury Centre’s attitude with regard to the date for the American athletes' appearance in Christchurch. It was decided that it was impossible to make an alteration or to reduce the amount of the guarantee. Canterbury has replied cancelling the date and requesting a refund of the guarantee. Palmerston North may now be offered Saturday, January 13, for the visit of the Americans. The Wellington Centre has decided that if the New Zealand championships are held at Dunedin on January 20, a Wellington team
