THE WOOL MARKET.
CHRISTCHURCH SALE. BEST EVER HELD. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Chrjscthurch, Night. The wool sale concluded this morning, when 4500 bales were offered. In the earlier part the buoyancy of overnight was well maintained for all merino and super halfbred wools, but towards the close there was a slight easing for mediums, halfbred and three-quarterbred wools, due in a measure, as far as halfbreds were concerned, to loeal mills haying largely filled supplies for the time being. Passings were somewhat more frequent in the final catalogue, but in the aggregate they represented a very small proportion. Over the whole sale the advance, compared with the November market, was from Ud to on merino, Id to 2d on halfbred, Id to l|d on three-quarter-bred, Id to Ifd on medium crossbred, ia to 14d on coarse and Id to 2|d on pieces. New figures set in the concluding portion of the market were 17? d for crossbred, 24|d for Down, and 21 id for three-quarterbred. As far as pure wool prices are concerned the Rale was the best ever held in the province.
