ACCIDENT TN THE BUSH. By Telegraph -Press Association. Taumaranui, Last Night. 'At an inquest on James Mason Runciman, who died in the Tauntara. nui hospital after an accident in the bush, necessitating an operation, a verdict was returned that no blame was attachable to anyone, death primarily being due to the accident and the cause of death was shock following on an operation. DISTRESSING FATALITY AT HUNTERVILLE. Marton, Nov. 28. A sad shooting fatality occurred at Hunterville on Tuesday morning. Miss Maggie Howie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Howie, well-known settlers, went out rabbit shooting at 8.30, and in getting over a gate a pea rifle she was carrying was accidentally discharged, the bullet entering her brain. Medical assistance was obtained, the sufferer lingering till midday, when she passed away. The tragedy cast ft gloom ■over Hunterville, where deceased’s parents live. Deceased wa«s only 24 years of age,,and was to be married in three months’ time. She was highly respected.
