LINERS DUE.
PORT DENISON TO-DAY DIRECT ENGLISH CARGO. One of the biggest liners to enter the port of New Plymouth is due this morning—the C. and D. liner Port Denison, which arrives from London, via Lyttelton, with an inward cargo to discharge, while she will also take an outward cargo of produce for the United Kingdom. The vessel, at latest advice, was to leave Lyttelton at 7 a.m. yesterday, and should make the passage in about twenty-four hours. Owing to the shipping deadlock it is possible the Port Denison may have a South Island mail on board, this being the original plan had the vessel left in time to connect with this morning's south -bound mail train. The Port Denison is a vessel of 7780 tons net and over 10,000 tons gross, her commander being Captain T. G. Hutchinson. Her length is 480 ft. After discharging about 1000 tons of direct English cargo, the Port Denison will load 36.000 boxes of butter and 12,000 crates of cheese for the Home market, proceeding subsequently to Wanganui. Wellington, Napier, and Auckland in continuation of her Homeward loading. She is scheduled to leave the latter port on December 10 for I»ndon, via Mont© Video and Teneriffe. Other expected arrivals this month include the Otaki (7963 tons), due on Thursday with 975 tons of general cargo from New York. Her consignment includes 18,500 cases of benzine and 2000 cases of kerosene. The Waihemo, which arrived at Auckland yesterday morning, is due at New Plymouth to discharge Pacific Coast cargo about November 20. She will be followed by the Middlesex (8659 tons) which ie to load produce for the United Kingdom about November 23.
