SUPREME COURT.
WELLINGTON SENTENCES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, November 10. In the Supremo Court this morning Maurice Tangney, for attempting to obtain £5OO under false pretences, was (sentenced to 18 months’ reformative treatment. The prisoner asked to be discharged, undertaking to leave New Zaaland, where he could never do any good in view of the attitude of the police. Benjamin Jones-, who figured in the Petone shooting sensation in August 'last, was sentenced to five years’ hard labour. Prisoner fired four shots- at twp constables who were executing a distress warrant.
