FATE OF THE SULTAN. ABDICATION REPORTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 5, 5.5 p.m. Nov. 4. It is reported the Sultan has abdicated. The Angora Government’s decree announces that the Khalifate remains with the house of Athman, but the Assembly will select a prince whose character, attainments and morals make him worthy of the position. It is understood many favor Abdul Mejid as Khalif on the ground that his Western ideas would afford Turkey the liberty necessary for development. TREATIES DISOWNED. ACTION BY ANGORA GOVERNMENT.
