General Mulcahy’s house at Portobello, Dublin, was attacked, and a number of bombs were thrown and a heavy fire evened. The National Guards eventually dispersed the attackers. Three armed men, disguised as women, bailed up a bank in Kilrush and seized £l6OO, after locking the manager and two of the office staff in the safe, into which holes were bored to supply air until a duplicate key was secured to enable their release.
