WAITARA.
(From Our Own Correspondent). The Waitara Seaside and Surf Bathing Society have decided to build a ladies’ dressing shed in wood to replace the concrete one lately demolished by the sea. The dimensions of the building will be 16 x 12, and it will be placed on skids, in case it should be required to be shifted at any time. Voluntary labor is to be used and the committee propose canvassing the town for funds for the purpose. A mob of cattle comprising 300 head arrived yesterday for the local freezing works from the Waikato district. Considering the distance and the length of
time on the road, the cattle..looked in very good condition. It is reported that the Harbor Board’s shed was entered one night last week and goods confiscated. 'At a meeting of the committee in connection with the rose show on Tuesday evening a considerable amount of preparatory work was done. The secretary reported having received favorable replies from those who were proposed as judges. As there is a considerable amount or labor required for preparing the hall for the show the committee appeals for voluntary labor.
