CUSTOMS REVENUE.
A BIG INCREASE. NEW PLYMOUTH FIGURES. The customs revenue collected at New Plymouth during October shows a large increase over the corresponding period for last year, the figures being £6147 Us 3d and £4255 18s lid, an increase of £lB9l 12s 4d. October last year, however, was one of the worst of the and the figure® for last month may be taken as a good average for the port. The beer duty shows a slight increase of £27 15s 4d, the total increase, adding the two returns together, being £1919 7s Bd. Following are the figures for the two periods:—
