DAIRY POOL SCHEME.
EVIDENCE BEFORE COMMITTEE. PUBLICATION ASKED FOR. (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. In order that all who were interested might have an opportunity of weighing the pros q-nd cons of the dairy pool question before next session, the Leader of the Opposition (Mr. T. M. Wilford) suggested to the Prime Minister that copies of the evidence tendered to the special committee on the Dairy Produce Export Control Bill should be supplied to all the dairy factories in New Zealand. The Prime Minister replied that th<* printing and circulation of so much evidence would he very costly. Moreover, he did not know whether the people concerned would require the evidence. The Hansard reports of the discussions on the Bill would go a long way towards supplying the information required by the producers. In any case he understood several conferences on the dairy pool scheme were to be held and he expected that before the House met again the producers would have come much nearer to unanimity. He would be prepared to consider the printing of a condensed report of the evidence, but the consideration of expense was the chief one that weighed with him.
