THE SUPPLEMENTARY LIST. TARANAKI GRANTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Supplementary Estimates, including £177,491 from the ConsLlidated Fund, £118,575 from the Public Works Fund, and £40,531 from other accounts were introduced by Governor-General’s message in the House to-night and passed in a few minutes without comment. (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Night. The Supplementary Estimates contain many items of general interest. Some of tliem are:— Expenses of the Taxation Committee. £450. Destruction of rabbits on Native lands, £7500. i British Empire Exhibition, £15,000. Medical treatment of returned soldiers, £113,700. Contribution towards the relief of refugees in Smyrna, £lOOO. Railway superannuation (additional), £50,000. Teachers - superannuation (additional), £25,000. Establishment of an inquiry agency In America, £lOOO. Removal of stranded whale from Paramata beach, £5O. Destruction of rabbits on Crown lands, £lO,OOO. Expense of special constables sworn in at Raratonga to quell riots by Raratongan members of the Expeditionary Force on their return to the Cook Islands, £9B. Preparation of war histories (additional), £2459. The roads and bridges votes are unusually small in number. The roads votes include:— Saunders Road (£1 for £1), Taranaki £3OO. Mangorei Upper (£1 for £1), Taranaki, £3OO. Hursthouse Road, Inglewood ( £1 for naki. £3OO. Kaipi Road, Inglewood (£1 for £1), £3OO. Norfolk Road, Inglewood (£1 for £1), £l5O. Oruru, Stratford (on account of £750), £350. Subsidies include: — New Plymouth Tourist and Expansion League, £75. Egmont National Park and Domain Board, £2OO. Another claim is: Office premises, capital expenditure and land, buildings, alterations, additions, repayment of mortgages and incidental expenses, New Plymouth (additional). £7OOO.
