PATEA CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hawera, Oct. 28. Mr. J. R. Corrigan, the official Liberal candidate, opened hie campaign last night, a large number attending. The candidate advocated rural banks, the Government acquiring the Bank of New Zealand as a State bank, and preferential voting. He criticised the Government policy, especially the Railway and Postal Departments. He blamed Mr. Massey for not forcing the butter j 00l through. He received an attentive hearing, but was bombarded with questions and freely heckled, though the mleeting was good-humored throughout.
